Talk about side effects
Have you ever stopped taking a medication because it made you feel worse? If that has happened to you, it’s better to let your health care provider know instead of not taking the medication. A different medication might work without the troubling side effects. Here are some other tips:
- Ask your pharmacist to explain to you what to expect when you take your medications. You can also get written information from your pharmacist. If you look up information yourself in print or on the Internet, it is a good idea to ask your pharmacist or physician about anything you don’t understand.
- Contact your physician if you think you are experiencing a side effect. Any changes in your health could be caused by your medication.
- Use one pharmacy. Your pharmacist can then keep track of the medications you use and pinpoint any possible problems with interactions.
