Complex Surgery

to take a break from a mercy-mission
operation in El Salvador so he could
donate his own rare type blood for his
8-year-old patient.

CHAM Surgical Team Performs
a Rare Tumor Operation for
9/11 Victim’s Son
A team of five CHAM surgeons stopped
a tumor from crushing 6-year-old Aiden
Fraser’s spine. This marathon operation
was a two-stage procedure that removed
deformed bones in the child’s neck that
had been crushed by a tumor. The surgeons
then replaced them with healthy
bones taken from the child’s ribs.

CHAM physician Iman Sharif, MD,
co-authored a study that proves that
middle school students who watch TV
or play video games during the week
