Real Oatmeal
3½ cups water
2 cups old-fashioned oats
2 cups chunky applesauce
2 cups skim milk
4 teaspoons brown sugar
Put water in a small pot. Heat on high until water boils. Stir in oats and turn heat to medium. Let cook for 5 minutes, stirring two or three times. Add applesauce and stir.
Divide into four bowls. Pour one-half cup of milk into each bowl. Top each bowl with one teaspoon of brown sugar.
