Alzheimer’s Information and Support Group

Discussion meeting for family members and caregivers of those with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. To learn more, call Barone Alzheimer’s Care Center at 417-448-3999.
Location: Barone Care Center No fee to attend meetings.

Aquatic Exercise

Low-impact aquatic aerobics class. Offered weekly. Please call 417-448-3622 for location.
Class fee is $10.

Childbirth Class
(One-day course)

One-day Saturday course.
Dates and Times: November 14 and January 30, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Location: Mezzanine Conference Room
No class fee.

Childbirth Class (Series)

Intended for women in the last trimester of pregnancy.
Dates and Time: Monday evening class starts January 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. Runs in a four-week session.
Location: Mezzanine Conference Room
No class fee.

Day Care Provider’s Education

Educational credits are offered to help licensed day care providers obtain their required class time.
Dates and Time: October 27, 6:30 p.m.
Location: Third Floor Classroom
No class fee.

Diabetes Education

For persons diagnosed with diabetes. Class is led by a certified diabetes educator. All participants must have a physician’s referral. Please call 417-448-3645 for location and registration. Class runs in a four-week session.

Exercise for Arthritis

This exercise class is designed specifically for people with arthritis. This program will help participants keep their joints flexible, maintain muscle strength and build overall stamina.
Dates and Time: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.
Location: Moore-Few Community Room
Class fee is $10 for a two-month session.

Great American Smokeout

Date and Time: November 19, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Location: NRMC Main Lobby
Free smoking-cessation survival kits offered.

Healthy Holiday Cooking Class

Date and Time: November 10, 6 p.m.
Location: Moore-Few Community Room
No class fee.

HeartSaver CPR

Dates and Times: November 11 and January 18, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Location: Third Floor Classroom
$10 fee.

Infant/Child CPR Class

Teaches basic life saving skills for infants and small children.
Date and Time: November 3, 6:30 p.m.
Location: Third Floor Classroom
No class fee.

Sibling Celebration

Designed for children ages 2 to 6. Helps children celebrate becoming a big brother or sister. Class includes a tour of the OB department.
Dates and Times: November 10 and January 12, 3:30 to 4:15 p.m.

Tai Chi Review

A refresher course for people who have already attended the Tai Chi class.
