PACE (People with Arthritis Can Exercise)

This exercise class is designed specifically for people with arthritis. This program will help participants keep their joints flexible, maintain muscle strength and build overall stamina.
Dates and Time: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Location: Moore-Few Community Room
Class fee is $10 for a two-month session.

Alzheimer’s Assistance and Support

This is open to anyone with an interest or concern about Alzheimer’s disease. If this is not a convenient time for you or if you prefer a private discussion, call Maureen Short, BSN, LNHA, administrator at the Barone Care Center, 417-448-3999.
Dates and Times: Thursday, March 1, 1 to 2 p.m.; March 15, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.; April 5, 1 to 2 p.m.; April 19, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Location: Barone Care Center
No fee to attend.

Childbirth Class

Intended for women in the last trimester of pregnancy. It is important to attend the entire series to get the most benefit for you and your baby.
Dates and Time: Tuesdays beginning March 6 and April 24, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Location: NRMC Third Floor Classroom
No class fee for a five-week session.

Mom’s Group

Dates and Time: Tuesday, March 6, April 3, May 1, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Location: NRMC Third Floor Classroom
No fee to attend.

Tai Chi

This exercise class helps people gain balance and mobility while participating in a form of stress-reduction exercise.
Dates and Time: Wednesdays beginning March 7, 11 to 11:45 a.m.
Location: NRMC Third Floor Classroom
Class fee is $10 for a five-week session.

Sibling Celebration

Designed for children ages 2 to 6. Helps children celebrate becoming a big brother or big sister. Class includes a tour of the OB department.
Dates and Times: Thursday, March 8, 3 to 3:45 p.m.; Thursday, May 10, 6 to 6:45 p.m.
Location: Medical Arts Conference Room
No class fee.

Operation Fit Kids

Class helps children ages 6 to 12 learn how to live a healthy lifestyle.
Dates and Time: Mondays beginning March 19, 3:30 to 5 p.m.
Location: Osage Prairie YMCA
Class fee is $15 for a four-week session, includes t-shirt and healthy snacks.

PACE Aquatics

This warm water class is designed for people with arthritis to help improve their mobility. Participants do not need to be swimmers to join.
Dates and Times: Mondays and Wednesdays beginning March 19, 8 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 4 p.m.
Location: Cottey College
Class fee is $10 for an eight-week session.

Day Care Provider’s Education

Educational credits are offered to help licensed day care providers obtain their required class time.
Dates and Time: Monday, March 26, April 23 and May 21, 6:30 p.m.
Location: Mezzanine Conference Room
No class fee.

Arthritis and Fibromyalgia Self-Help Group

Dates and Time: Tuesdays beginning April 3, 2 to 3 p.m.
Location: Medical Arts Conference Room
Class fee is $15, includes Arthritis Help book.

Infant/Child CPR

Parents and caregivers can learn how to perform CPR on an infant or small child.
Date and Time: Tuesday, May 8, 6:30 p.m.
Location: Medical Arts Conference Room
No class fee.

Fourth Annual Caring With Pride Golf Classic

Date and Time: Friday, May 18, 9 a.m.
Shotgun Start
Location: Frank E. Peters Municipal Golf Course
Entry fee is $300 per team. Registration deadline is Friday, May 11. To register, contact the NRMC Foundation at 417-448-3609.

Community Health Fair

Free health screenings available from a variety of Nevada health care professionals. Screenings to include cholesterol, glucose, glaucoma, blood pressure, hearing testing and more. For more information, please call 417-448-3622.
