Childbirth Class

Intended for women in the last trimester of pregnancy. It is important to attend the entire series to get the most benefit for you and your baby.
Dates and Times: One-day Saturday course, May 9 and July 11, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Monday evening class starts April 20 and June 15, 6 to 8 p.m., and runs in a four-week session
Location: Mezzanine Conference Room
No class fee.

Sibling Celebration

Designed for children ages 2 to 6. Helps children celebrate becoming a big brother or sister. Class includes a tour of the OB department.
Dates and Time: May 12 or July 14, 3:30 to 4:15 p.m.
Location: Medical Arts Conference Room
No class fee.

Infant/Child CPR

Basic lifesaving skills for infants and small children.
Date and Time: May 12, 6:30 p.m.
Location: Third Floor Classroom
No class fee.

Day Care Provider’s Education

Educational credits are offered to help licensed day care providers obtain their required class time.
Date and Time: April 28, 6:30 p.m.
Topic: Gardening with Children
Date and Time: June 30, 6:30 p.m.
Topic: Oral Health
Location: Third Floor Classroom
No class fee.

PACE Aquatics

This warm water class is designed for people with arthritis to help improve their mobility, flexibility and stamina. Participants do not need to be swimmers to join.
Dates and Times: Mondays and Wednesdays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 22 – August 6, at noon
Call for class location. Class fee is $10 for a seven-week session.

Tai Chi Review

A refresher course for people who have already attended the Tai Chi class.
Dates and Time: Thursdays at 9 a.m. beginning May 21
Location: Third Floor Classroom
No class fee.

PACE (People with Arthritis Can Exercise)

This exercise class is designed specifically for people with arthritis. This program will help participants keep their joints flexible, maintain muscle strength and build overall stamina.
Dates and Time: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.
Location: Moore-Few Community Room
Class fee is $10 for a two-month session.

Alzheimer’s Information and Support Group

Discussion meeting for family members and caregivers of those with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. For more information, call Barone Alzheimer’s Care Center at 417-448-3999. This group is affiliated with the Alzheimer’s Association, Southwest Missouri Chapter.
Respite care is not available.
Location: Barone Care Center
No fee to attend meetings.

Diabetes Education

For persons diagnosed with diabetes. Class is led by Nancy Pitts, R.N., Diabetic Educator. All participants must have a physician’s referral. Register by calling 417-448-3645. Class runs in a four-week session.
Location: Medical Arts Conference Room
No class fee.

Sixth Annual Caring with Pride Golf Classic

Date and Time: Friday, May 15, 9 a.m. shotgun start
Location: Frank E. Peters Municipal Golf Course
Entry fee is $300 per team. Registration deadline is Friday, May 8. To register, contact the NRMC Foundation at 417-448-3609.

American Cancer Society Services

An ACS representative will answer questions and provide information about American Cancer Society services available to Vernon County residents.
